The nasal sinuses are where it is produced in large quantities. This has a specific role to play in preparing inhaled oxygen for our lungs, but you only really benefit from this if nose breathing. The benefits are reduced around 70% mouth breathing.
NO has many beneficial properties including it being antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal. It sterilises the O2 removing and neutralising many airborn pollutants and harmful nasties. Including our pharyngeal tonsils located at the back of the nasal cavity, our body has an amaziing defecnce system to fight many threats.
Covid is one such threat. Nasal breathing helps enormously to counter this and many other similar ones, both in avoidance and to fight if contracted.
